What are Great Lengths Strands Fusion Hair Extensions?
Great Lengths Hair Extensions are pre-bonded strands of hair that are attached to small sections of your own natural hair near the root. Length, volume or both is now safe and comfortable to achieve so you can stop dreaming about the hairstyle of your dreams.

How are the Great Lengths strands fusion extensions applied?
While others use techniques such as welding, waxing, gluing or knotting, the method of bonding that Great Lengths utilizes is the highest technology. They use keratin, which is the tough protein substance that is the main structural component of our hair and nails. The Great Lengths strands keratin bond is a polymer compound whose molecular structure is very similar to that of human hair so it moves and behaves like your own hair to ensure a gentle, yet strong hold.

Will my hair extensions feel natural?
Great Lengths fusion strands are 100% human hair extensions of extraordinary quality because it has never been exposed to harsh chemical treatments. It feels soft, silky and natural and will become like your own hair. However, it will take a few days to adjust to having extensions in your hair. After that initial adjustment period, you will forget that you are even wearing them. You will be able to engage in any activity.

Will the natural hair extensions cause hair loss or damage my natural hair?
Hair loss or damage does not occur if the hair extensions are applied correctly, maintained properly and removed patiently. Something that separates an average hair extension technician from an amazing hair extension specialist is the amount of patience the stylist has. An amazing application is a tedious process and requires equal distribution, even placement and the use of correct sized attachments. When the attachment area is too large, it will cause strain on the natural hair resulting in hair loss.

How do I care for my hair extensions?
You are able to wash, brush and style your newly transformed hairstyle as you normally do. The only thing to be concerned about is matting near the root as the bond begins to grow away from your head. This can be avoided by brushing the hair from scalp to ends with a natural boar bristle brush. I will send you home with a maintenance kit and instructions on caring for your new human hair extensions.

How much do hair extensions cost?
The cost of Great Lengths strands Human Hair Extensions can range between $250 and $2200, depending on the look you to create. During your consultation, I will analyze your hair and give you a quote based on the amount of hair needed to achieve your look and the length of hair you desire. Once quoted, the price will not change - even if I have to use more hair than I originally estimated in order to make your style look amazing.

My design fee includes all the hair you need, my time for the prep work and application of your new Great lengths strands, a haircut using my special cut-to-blend technique and a home maintenance kit that includes a boar bristle brush, shampoo, conditioner and a leave in treatment.

How long does it take to apply the hair extensions?
Most applications take from 2 to 8 hours to complete. My studio is private, so there is no chance of your session being interrupted by another client. You will be made to feel comfortable, and are encouraged to bring your favorite book or DVD. I have all the comforts of home so that you can relax during your transformation.

How long do hair extensions last?
The length of time the extensions can stay in place before they will need to be removed and reapplied depends on how fast you hair grows and the rate of your  natural hair fall.

The bonds will grow away from your head as your hair grows out. When this occurs, the weight of the strand will shift further down your hair shaft. Furthermore, it’s common that people will shed up to 100 hairs per day. Your natural hair will shed at it’s usual rate, but the fallen hairs will remain in the bond. Before too long, the weight of the strand is only being supported by half as many hairs as it was in the beginning and will create tension on your natural hair like a tightrope. Most people can go up to 3 months before this happens. On average, the human hair extensions will need to be removed and reapplied every 8 to 16 weeks.
