Single Strand Fusion Method

Single Strand Fusion Method

Single Strand Fusion Method Before and After
The Great Lengths single strand fusion method uses keratin, which is the tough protein substance that is the main structural component of our hair and nails. The Great Lengths keratin bond is a polymer compound whose molecular structure is very similar to that of human hair so it moves and behaves like your own hair to ensure a gentle, yet strong hold. The end of the pre-tipped strand is softened by the applicator tong so it can be molded to your natural hair. This method is high maintenance and needs to be cared for every day to ensure that there is no damage to your natural strands. On average, the extensions will need to be removed and reapplied every 12 to 16 weeks.

Micro-Cylinder Method

Micro-Cylinder Method

Micro-cylinder Method Before and After
The Dream Catchers by Paris Hilton single strand method is applied using a technologically advanced micro-cylinder. A small section of your natural hair is threaded through the cylinder along with the pre-tipped strand, and then the cylinder is closed to secure the strand to your own hair. They are designed to be reusable for 6 months or more because the tip does not break down with use. This method of application is possibly the most cost effective around because the hair can be used over and over again. This method requires less at home maintenance than the fusion strands because they are mostly serviced in the salon. On average, the extensions will need an adjustment service every 6 to 8 weeks.

Unique Extensions For Fine/Thin Hair Before and After
The Ultratress II adhesive weft method is a unique product utilizing advanced adhesive bonds applied in a sandwich technique. This method was created especially for people with fine or thinning hair. Because it evenly distributes the weight of the extension over a larger area of your natural hair, the susceptibility of damage to your natural hair is greatly reduced. This method is the only extension application that we recommend for people who have naturally finer hair or have experienced hair loss or damage for any reason. This method is very low maintenance. On average, the extensions will need to be removed and reapplied every 8 to 12 weeks.

What are hair extensions?

Hair extensions are pre-tipped strands of hair that are attached to small sections of your own natural hair near the root. Length, volume or both is now safe and comfortable to achieve, so you can stop dreaming about the hairstyle of your dreams!

How is the hair applied?

While some salons use techniques such as weaving, braiding, waxing, gluing or knotting, the methods of attachment we use are the latest and the greatest.

A small section of your natural hair is threaded through the cylinder along with the pre-tipped strand, then the cylinder is closed to secure the strand to your own hair. They are designed to be reusable for several applications because the tip does not break down with use. This method of application is possibly the most cost effective around because the hair can be used over and over again.

Will people know that I am wearing extensions?

The extensions are always applied behind the hair line and away from your natural partings. It’s possible to customize the size of the bond to accommodate any type of hair from ultra-fine to very thick. The result is undetectable attachments that are brushable, durable and most importantly, non-damaging to your natural strands.

Will the extensions match my hair color and texture?

Color matches are never an issue. We have over 50 shades to choose from, including fun fashion shades for those who are bold and daring. We will often select 6 or more different colors in order to mimic the natural variation of your hair color for a completely seamless blend. The strands also come in 3 different textures to match any kind of hair – from stick straight to the tightest ringlet curl.

Will my extensions feel natural?

We only use strands that are 100% human hair of extraordinary quality, because it has never been exposed to harsh chemical treatments. It feels soft, silky and natural and will become like your own hair. However, it will take a few days to adjust to having extensions in your hair. After that initial adjustment period, you will forget that you are even wearing them. You will be able to engage in any activity like swimming, dancing, fitness training, playing tennis, holidays at the beach or doing winter sports – without the concern of damaging your new hair.

Will the extensions cause hair loss or damage my natural hair?

Hair loss or damage does not occur if the extensions are applied correctly, maintained properly and removed patiently. Something that separates an average hair extension technician from an amazing hair extension specialist is the amount of patience the stylist has. An amazing application is a tedious process and requires equal distribution, even placement and the use of correct sized attachments. When the attachment area is too large, it will cause strain on the natural hair resulting in hair loss.

It’s also important for the stylist to educate their client on at home care and maintenance. After the proper application of the extensions, the responsibility of caring for them transfers to YOU. If you follow the maintenance guidelines that we give you, your extensions will not cause any damage to your natural hair.

How do I care for my extensions?

You are able to wash, brush and style your newly transformed hairstyle as you normally do. The only thing to be concerned about is matting near the root as the bond begins to grow away from your head. This can be avoided by brushing the hair from scalp to ends with a natural boar bristle brush. We will send you home with a special brush and instructions on caring for your new hair.

How much do hair extensions cost?

The cost of hair extensions can range between $600 and $2500, depending on the method of application and the grade of hair that is used. Grade A hair is the highest quality on the market, so naturally is more expensive. We also carry grade B hair, which is good hair and is substantially less expensive.

During your complimentary consultation, we will analyze your hair and give you a quote based on the amount of hair needed to achieve your look and the length of hair you desire. Once quoted, the price will not change – even if we have to use more hair than originally estimated in order to make your style look amazing.

The design fee includes all the hair you need, our time for the prep work and application of your new hair, a haircut using our special cut-to-blend technique and a special brush to maintain your beautiful new locks.

How long does it take to apply the extensions?

Most applications take from 2 to 8 hours to complete. Our studio is by appointment only, so there is no chance of your session being interrupted by another client. You will be made to feel comfortable, and are encouraged to bring your favorite book or DVD. We have all the comforts of home so that you can relax during your transformation.

How long do extensions last?

The length of time the extensions can stay in place before they will need to be adjusted or removed and reapplied depends on how fast you hair grows and the rate of your natural hair fall.

The bonds will grow away from your head as your hair grows out. When this occurs, the weight of the strand will shift further down your hair shaft. Furthermore, it’s common that people will shed 100-150 hairs per day. Your natural hair will shed at it’s usual rate, but the fallen hairs will remain in the bond. Before too long, the weight of the strand is only being supported by half as many hairs as it was in the beginning and will create tension on your natural hair like a tightrope. On average, the extensions will need to be adjusted after 6 to 8 weeks with the micro-cylinder method or removed and reapplied every 12 to 16 weeks with the fusion method and every 8 to 12 weeks with the adhesive weft method.
